Art Auction
Saturday September 21st

sherree picture 01 copy.jpg

The celebrated English Impressionist artist, Sherree Valentine-Daines, will perform a live portraiture of local legend, Graham Walker, in all his finery and recognisable style. Sherree will produce a unique painting before our very eyes, explaining the process and giving us a rare insight into her creative process. The painting will be auctioned off at the end of the night along with other artworks from local artists, including some highly collectable works. This will be overseen by Martin Roberts, television’s celebrated auctioneer from ‘Homes Under The Hammer’. The evening will also include excellent refreshments, live music and an opportunity to mingle.

Sherree is one of our finest English artists and has been commissioned by many including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Sir John Major, Rick Stein, Dame Vera Lynn, Jonny Wilkinson, Will Carling, Michael Parkinson and Joanna Lumley, so we thought we should add Graham Walker to that list! Her original works are highly collectable and sought after.

Other art works being auctioned include an original Picasso lino cut print (donated by Fred Mulder), a signed limited edition Damien Hirst Print, “Snowblind”, and a limited edition print by Sir William Russell Flint (donated by Davidson Fine Art), plus some great prints and paintings by other artists.

This event is a fundraiser for the Uplift! project.   This project is transforming St Mary’s into an accessible, inclusive, warm and spiritually nourishing place for all of its multiple users and visitors, both current and future. Recently at St. Mary’s Totnes, we have been thrilled to announce that the National Lottery Heritage Fund has awarded a grant of nearly one million pounds towards the planned works on the church which will install new solar powered heating and lighting, a restored floor, some moveable seating, a new servery area and an accessible toilet. Thanks to ongoing fantastic local and national support, we have now raised £1.5 million of the £1.6 million we need. So there will be a real feel of celebration in the air on this night!
